Tunnel thrusters contribute significantly to a vessel’s manoeuvring capabilities. NGC’s philosophy of single source propulsion responsibility includes the supply of NCT series (with controllable pitch propeller) and NFT series (with fixed pitch propeller) tunnel thrusters, including their Prime Mover and starting system. The NCT (CPP) tunnel thruster range extends to 3000 kW and the NFT (FPP) tunnel thruster range to 1000 kW. The NGC tunnel thrusters have been designed for continuous operation in the harsh environment of the offshore industry. For intermittent duty cycles such as ship docking, admissible ratings are increased accordingly.
